Troop Librarian
The Troop Librarian oversees
the care and use of all Troop books, Merit Badge (MB) books,
pamphlets, magazines, audiovisuals, and Troop leadership
and rank information. He must provide the committee with
a list of all of the needed MB books and Scout requested
literature.
Requirements:
To become a Librarian a Scout must meet
the following criteria:
- Active status
- At least 1st Class rank
Specific Duties:
- Maintains an inventory of the Troop
library
- Provides to the Troop Committee request
for new, replacement or out of date literature.
- Makes sure literature is available
during Troop meetings.
- Is responsible for checking out and
checking back in all Troop literature.
- Attends the PLC.
- Sets a good example.
- Wears the uniform properly and to
all Troop meetings and activities.
- Lives by the scout oath and Law.
The tenure of this position is
for 6 months. To receive leadership credit for this position,
the Troop Librarian must participate in at least six Troop
meetings and participate in at least one Troop activity/campout/camp
per quarter.
