Troop Guide (TG)
Each Troop Guide (TG)
is both a leader and mentor for the new Scouts and new Scout
Patrols. He helps the Patrol Leader (PL) of the new Scouts
in the same way that the SM works with an SPL; providing
direction, coaching, and support by improving the skill
level and morale of the New Scouts. Additionally, the TGs
will serve as the Troop’s primary representative at
all recruitment activities.
Requirements:
To become a TG a Scout must meet the
following criteria:
- Active status
- At least 1st Class rank
- Successfully held a troop Leadership
Position
Specific Duties:
- Greets and introduces all guests and
visitors to the Troop.
- Acts as a mentor to all of the new
Scouts.
- Serves as the 1st Patrol leader of
a new Scout patrol until a Scout in the patrol meets the
Rank requirement.
- Attends the PLC.
- Sets a good example.
- Wears the uniform properly and to
all Troop meetings and activities.
- Lives by the scout oath and Law.
The tenure of this position is
for 6 months. To receive leadership credit for this position
the TG must participate in a minimum of six Troop meetings
and one PLC meetings per quarter.
