Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader (ASPL) The Assistant
Patrol Leader (ASPL) serves as the SPL’s assistant
and takes his place when he is absent. The first ASPLs specific
responsibilities are for the Troop leadership and the second
is responsible for the patrol leaders.
Requirements:
The SPL chooses which ASPL will be over
the Patrols and which over Troop Leadership positions; to
become an ASPL a Scout must meet the following criteria:
- Active status
- At least 1st Class rank
- Successfully held a troop Leadership
Position
Specific Duties:
- Serves as SPL when the SPL is not
in attendance.
- Provides updates at the PLC for the
respective teams they are responsible for (i.e. Troop
leadership or Patrols).
- Attends the PLC.
- Sets a good example.
- Wears the uniform properly and to
all Troop meetings and activities.
- Lives by the scout oath and Law.
The tenure of this position is
for 6 months. To receive leadership credit for this position
the ASPL must participate in a minimum of six Troop meetings
and two PLC meetings per quarter as measured.
